Film Trivia

The first feature length science fiction film to be made in Switzerland.
Leading Swiss sci-fi designer H.R. Giger was given a private screening of the film.
As Dr. Portmann leaves the examination room after tending to Decker's head wound, structural formulas of hexahydrocannabinol (or THC with one double bond missing) and, below this, amphetamine can be seen on a computer screen in the background.
Eight years in the making.
At the beginning of the film, you can hear somebody playing a video game. However, the sound is actually taken from two different games, Sûpâ Mario Rando (1989) and Tetris (1984), both for the original Nintendo Game Boy.
The film takes place from 2267 to 2270.
In various scenes in the movie the Unity Engine logo can be seen, for example at 00:34 in the cargo scene, the Unity logo is clearly visible on the wall behind the two orange-clad figures. This is most likely a nod to the Unity Engine, which was probably used to render some or all of the 3D SFX for this movie. Unity is a cross-platform game engine developed by Unity Technologies that can be used to create 3D and 2D games as well as simulations.
